We Cannot Stop Talking About This Amazing Middle Eastern Kitchen In RA Puram, Chennai.
Nothing can compare to a clear blue sky, the azure bay and a plate of delicious Falafel, while listening to some beautiful music. If you want to take a break from your mundane life and slip into the perfect Mediterranean vacation for an hour, then we have the perfect place for you. Chennai’s very own Middle Eastern Kitchen is now open at the 6th Main road, RA Puram.
The charm of the bright blue walls and furniture with a rustic finish is sure to remind you of clear blue sea and the warm Mediterranean sun. Look around and you will see the small plates on the wall, reminding you that it is always better to get your favourite food in small portions so that you can try more items off the menu rather than filling yourself with the same dish. Instead of the usual two or four-seater, the café sports long tables where you can sit in groups and talk over good food and sip on some fine drinks.
Coming to the most important part, the food! Mezze was started as there was a dearth for inexpensive Mediterranean food in the city and now this place has become the popular spot after one week of opening. While you wait for your order to be served, sip on some Iced Mint Tea or Jalep, an iced drink made with dates. You can also choose from various drinks like cappuccino, Peach Ice Tea or Turkish coffee etc.
You cannot leave the restaurant without having a bite of their pita and hummus! This slightly leavened flatbread baked from wheat flour pairs amazingly well with the hummus.
You can also try their Chicken Lahmajoun, a Turkish thin crust pizza with marinated, saucy chicken and a drizzle of garlic sauce. Yes, Falafel should be there on your table if you are in Mezze, these chickpea fritters served in pita pockets with salad and tahina is so delicious that it will tempt you for seconds.
Now, if you don’t know what Baklava is, let us explain. Baklava is a rich, sweet dessert pastry made of layers of filo, filled with chopped nuts, sweetened, and held together with syrup or honey. The Baklava that you get at Mezze, that’s pure heaven! And that’s just not it. Everyone who ordered Baklava did not leave without ordering one more round of Baklava.
