Can You Recognize The Actor In These Super Exclusive Skittles Commercials?
It’s Super Bowl season and everyone is eating, drinking, living, and breathing the game. Keeping up with the annual championship, Skittles recently released a Super Bowl special ad commercial series starring a popular actor. The series features 4 15-second teasers, which are a sneak peek into what the actual Skittles commercials releasing on 4th February will be like.
But who really is this star, who at first look seems unrecognizable only to hit us with a massive “OHHHH! IT’S HIM!!” wave a few seconds on? Friends fans must be jumping in their seats, for the actor is none other than David Schwimmer. That’s right the guy in all whites with salt and pepper hair and borderline Liam Neeson-esque face; the long-haired miniature dude; the tripping blonde floating in an alternate dimension; and the fluorescent-eyed UV ray spitting retro villain are all played by Schwimmer. Take a look!
“I don’t do commercials as a rule, but I’ve always been a fan of the Skittles commercials,” Schwimmer told Food & Wine. “I just find them really odd and funny and they appeal to my own sense of humor.”
But why four teasers?
Apparently, the multi-million dollar ad will only be shown to one person – a teenager named Marcos Menendez. So, we’ll have to make do with just these four teasers (yes, our head is exploding too)! But if it makes you feel any better, not even Schwimmer will get to see the final cut.
“The highly exclusive ad will not be leaked to the public, and no, this is not a joke. The ad will be revealed to Marcos on Super Bowl Sunday on Skittles’ Facebook page,” the company revealed. “Menendez’s reaction is the only thing the public will be able to view on Facebook and no one else besides him will ever see the ad, not even Schwimmer.”
Some are calling this a brilliant move by Skittles, while others are still wrapping their head around the fact that only Menendez will be able to view the actual Super Bowl Skittles commercial. And if you’re unable to find logic in this strategy, you’re not alone.
That said, mad props to Skittles for attempting the impossible and treading the path never taken, for we sure are curious out of our minds and cannot wait for 4th February, even if it means only seeing Menendez’s reaction to the final commercial.
