Chrissy Teigen Had This Brand Rename Their Soup
You know you’re influential when a brand takes your suggestion seriously enough to change the name of one of its products because you said so. Cookbook author and former American model Chrissy Teigen had one such experience recently when she tweeted out her suggestion and Panera actually took it, calling her the “best human in the twittersphere”.
It all started with a misinterpreted definition of egg and bakery chain Panera requesting the FDA to alter the definition of eggs to fit in with one of their products – Broccoli Cheddar Soup – that mentioned egg but actually didn’t have any. Sharing her view of the matter, Teigen tweeted that “only actual eggs should be called eggs”, further suggesting that Panera’s said soup should be named “delicious cream times” instead.
Well, what do you know! Not only did Panera acknowledge Teigen’s opinion they went ahead with it and renamed the soup! Last week, the brand sent the 32-year-old a container of Panera broccoli cheddar soup rebranded as Delicious Cream Times Soup, just like she had proposed.

The brand further stated in a brainstorming string that Chrissy has just “started a delicious revolution”. True that!
Meanwhile, a Panera spokesperson also informed Refinery29 that the chain has also changed the soup’s name on it’s official website as well. Here’s to hoping for many more such Teigen-inspired improvements in the FMCG arena!
