Cremica To Set Up Food Facilities In Himachal Pradesh & Noida To Increase Market Presence
In a move to increase its market share and presences, food manufacturing giant Cremica Food Industries, which is known for products such as tomato ketchup, potato chips, and various bread spreads among other offerings, is allocating a sum of INR 200 crore to set up a food park in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh, and a food processing facility in Noida.
Increasing Vegetable Processing
According to Akshay Bector, chairman & managing director of Cremica Foods, the INR 150 crore investment in Himachal Pradesh will help the company amp up its vegetable processing ability and in turn upturn Cremica’s market presence, which is currently strongest in North India, in southern and western parts of the country as well.
“The line which is under installation right now will be able to process up to 50,000 tonnes of tomatoes every season. Overall the facility should be able to process around 100,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables every year,” Bector told ETRetail. Spread over an area of 60-acres, the food park is scheduled to be operational by May-end 2018.
Entering The Frozen Foods Sector
Meanwhile in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Cremica’s processing facility – an INR 50 crore investment – will assist the company in stepping foot into the frozen food industry, expanding the company’s product portfolio. This facility is expected to be up and running by February 2019.
“The government is incentivising frozen food in a big way. And since we are covering so many customers on the institutional side, there are so many products that we can sell additionally,” Bector said.
