The Irish House Opens A Swanky New Outlet At BKC In Mumbai
The vibe at The Irish House, newly opened at BKC is vivacious with a lavish bar, spacious décor, sassy quotes on the walls and the DJ playing the latest, foot-tapping music. We took all this in and were happy to be at the exclusive media launch where we found out loads more about the eighth outlet of this awesome pub chain which has taken the city by storm.
The Look
We enjoyed the entire look of The Irish House and couldn’t help but compare it to the other outlets. The bar area here was lavish with 20 beer taps and liked the wooden menu displaying the popular craft beers. All outlets have comfortable bar stools with a back rest and foot rest which we found was maintained here as well.
Coming to the little details, we noticed the greens spread across the outlet making this one unique and adding a little colour to the otherwise tavern-like look The Irish House likes to maintain. Yes, it has maintained the exposed brick-walls and quirky quotes but the overall look is of a charming place where one can look to have casual conversations, dates or simply dance the night with friends in. The best part for us though (being food centric as we are) was the open kitchen. Watching the food being made right in front of you is something quite rustic and expecting it in a bar is rare. So one can actually see the burgers being grilled, meats being barbecued and of course sumptuous pizzas cooked on wood fire coming out of a huge brick pizza oven.
The Food And Drinks
We tried the Irish Tea Party amongst a variety of cocktails at The Irish House and it was made up by mixing Jameson, vodka, gin, rum, triple sec and mint tea. Quite refreshing and of course, high on alcohol content, we enjoyed it a lot. As we sipped on our lovely cocktail we were served the classics – Grande Nachos, Mini Tacos and Cheese Burst Chicken. The nachos and tacos were both crispy and we really enjoyed them with the drink. They are perfect for light snacks and would disappear in no time when sitting in a group.
The Cheese Burst Chicken was excellent with the cheese oozing out of the batter fried chicken, it was really well cooked and delicious. We recommend this one with a whiskey, a bourbon or even a craft beer. We also enjoyed the Fish N Chips wherein the fish had a lovely batter and we’d love to order it again on our next trip to The Irish House. The Spicy Sweet Corn Pizza was tasty though we’d prefer more cheese on it. All in all the food was tasty and made for perfect bar nibblers.
The Irish House is well known in Mumbai by now and we’re sure that you’ll enjoy the BKC outlet a lot. The large windows can surely bring in loads of sunlight and it could turn out to be great for brunches and office get-togethers as well. So go ahead and experience this awesome new outlet soon!
