Healthy Indian Food To Be Served On Air India Flights
A new food menu featuring food like curd rice, poha, upma, etc instead of fried food is going to be a new change for Air India passengers reports Zee Biz. The report says that this change is to give healthier options to passengers as well as keeping the comfort food factor in mind. Besides this, the quality, taste and presentation is also another aim for the airlines that it wants to achieve through this change in menu. The change will reflect in all meals right from breakfast to high tea as well as lunch and dinner meals to welcome drinks.
Air India Goes Healthy
On long flights, the business and first class passengers will also get chutney and pickle options with their meals. The sweets for desserts would either be made in-house or brought in from well-known brands and sweet shops. For welcome drinks, Air India plans to serve beverages like Aam Panna, Jaljeera, Masala Lassi and Chaas which will replace aerated drinks and sugary juices.
A major change in breakfast option would be flavoured yoghurt instead of sliced fruits and croissants instead of bread rolls. For lunches and dinners, a two-course meal would be served in Air India flights and chutneys like mint and tomato varieties would be given instead of salads. The snacks would also see a shift with popular Indian snacks on the menu like pav bhaji, upma, poha, cutlets or puffs and ragda pattice during high tea.
