Lemon Chicken Recipe
This lemon chicken is cooked in a popular Punjabi style using lemon juice and a handful of spices, creating flavours that are fresh and clean.
This particular recipe is adapted from Sanjeev Kapoor’s Kitchen and has been prepared on the FoodFood Tv Channel! It tastes best with naan or steamed white rice.

Ingredients
- 750 grams Chicken cut into pieces
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 1/2 inches Ginger chopped
- 2 medium onions
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 7 Green chilies slit
- 12 Sprigs Coriander leaves
- salt to taste

Instructions
- Coat the chicken pieces with the lemon juice and salt to taste. Allow them to marinade overnight.
- In a non-stick pan, fry the cumin seeds and ginger for one to two minutes.
- Stir in the onions, turmeric powder and coriander powder.
- Add the slit chilies and the juice of half a lemon and sauté.
- Pour in one cup of water to the pan and add the chicken.
- Allow the curry to boil and then turn down the heat.
- Add the coriander leaves and cover the pan.
- Allow it to sit over low heat for half an hour until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
- Remove from the stove ad serve!
