A pill for Binge Eating Disorders may have been discovered
Scientists are working on a pill for binge eating disorders. The pill in question is not new to us- it’s the one used to treat ADHD in children and adults. When participants took the drug every day for 14 weeks, half of the 260 stopped binge eating completely, and most of the others were also affected by the drug.
The correlation between ADHD and binge eating disorders lies in the ‘reward’ center of the brain.
The study is yet to confirm the long term effects of the drug before it can be recommended for binge eating.
