Absconding Owners Of 1 Above Restaurant In Mumbai Caught
The restaurant that started the fire at Kamala Mills claiming 14 lives has been a matter of investigation for the civic officials as well as the police. The owners of 1 Above restaurant where the fire started were absconding and now have been finally arrested on Wednesday in the Bandra area of Mumbai.
Sanghvi Brothers Caught
The three owners, Kripesh and Jigar Sanghvi along with Abhijit Mankar went underground on 29th December when charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder by the police according to a report by the Times of India. It was confirmed by the Additional Commissioner of Police in central region, S Jayakumar that the Sanghavi brothers have been caught while Mankar is still on the run. The brothers and partners of 1 Above will be taken to court on 12th Jan.
The Sanghvi brothers were hiding at the home of Vishal Karia, a resident in the Juhu area of Mumbai who was interrogated by the police leading to the duo. The Joint Commissioner of Police (law and order) Deven Barti told the Times of India that a trap was laid for the duo as they had found out that they are going to meet a senior lawyer. “We got to know that the brothers were in Bandra (West). We laid a trap and caught them when they came to an eatery to meet someone,” said a police officer.
