Admist Declining Sales, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Plans Three New Plants

Despite reports of declining sales in the world of soft drinks, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd has announced that it will be investing Rs.1000 crore in setting up two new plants. This comes after the company recently laid the foundation stone for a bottling plant in Madhya Pradesh.

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (also known as JHCCBL) is the largest bottling partner of The Coca-Cola Company in India. It operates 24 bottling plants across the country and accounts for 65% of bottling operations for Coca-Cola in India.

Expansion Plans

In a statement to the PTI, the HCCBL chairman and CEO T Krishnakumar said :”We are setting up two greenfield plants at Ahmedabad and Nellore. Sanand (Ahmedabad) will be commissioned this year and Nellore next year. Between the two plants, over the next three years the investment would be at least Rs 1,000 crore. The two plants would add 4-5 per cent of our capacity.” 

In early January, the company also laid the foundation stone for a bottling plant in Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh in which it will be investing Rs.750 crore.

As well as Coca Cola, HCCBL manufacturers, sells and distributes Thums Up, Fanta, Minute Maid, Maazza, Schweppes, Limca, Sprite, Kinley, Vio and Fuze Tea.
