Ajay Devgn Takes On New Role as KFC India ’s add HOPE Ambassador

Earlier this year, KFC India announced a new initiative, add HOPE™, which aims to provide 20 million meals to underprivileged children by 2020. add HOPE™ is a long term commitment that will create awareness for anti-hunger and to raise funds to provide meals to India’s underprivileged children. Along with World Food Program and India FoodBanking Network for this initiative.

And now, KFC is partnering with acclaimed Bollywood actor and producer Ajay Devgn for this initiative as the ambassador. Devgn’s involvement with add HOPE™ will have him guide and support this campaign as it fights hunger across the country.

When talking about the association, Rahul Shinde Managing Director KFC India said, “According to a recent report by the United Nations, India is home to the largest undernourished and hungry population in the world. One child out of 4 in India is malnourished and more than 3,000 children die every day from poor diet related illness. Through add HOPE™ we aim to raise awareness and sensitize the masses about the serious issue of hunger, and provide meals to underprivileged kids in the country. I thank Ajay Devgn for lending support to add HOPE™. The journey to fight childhood hunger in the country is challenging, but with the support of our partners and hope ambassadors like Ajay, we are confident of moving in the right direction.”

“With such a large population, hunger is one of the most critical issues that our country faces. I think being associated with add HOPE™ as a Hope ambassador, is the one of the most challenging roles I have ever taken on – we are hoping to tackle a big, complex problem head on by raising awareness about hunger,” Ajay Devgn said when talking about supporting the initiative, “The difference a meal can make to a child’s development is huge. On screen, we all love to see the bad guys defeated. You too can contribute to defeating hunger and become a real life hero by adding a nominal amount of Rs. 5 to the bill each time you visit a KFC store.”

Customers can help feed a hungry child through add HOPE™ by adding Rs. 5 to their bill each time they eat at an outlet anywhere in the country. KFC employees in the 300+ restaurants around the country are also supporting local communities through volunteering.
