Did You Say Guacamole? There’s Finally An All-Guacamole-Themed Restaurant

on

From mac ‘n’ cheese and nachos to bacon, lettuce and tomato (BLT) sandwiches and fried chicken covered with cheese sauce, the New York food landscape is dotted with single subject restaurants. In such a scenario, coming up with a unique theme for such restaurants might pose a challenge. However, this year, for National Guacamole Day, New York City got the perfect gift: a new guacamole-themed restaurant in the East Village.

Aptly named Guac Tacos +Tequila, the restaurant opened on National Guacamole Day and Mexican Independence Day – on Friday, September 16th – in NYC’s East Village. This eatery  is taking the city by storm with it’s endless list of guacamole flavors. Eleven (yes, eleven!) types of guacamole are available here, including traditional, smoke chiptole, exotic mango and fried golden bacon! And the good news is they offer a three-guac sampler, in case you get overwhelmed by the choice!

THERES MORE THAN GUACAMOLE

Beyond guacamole, if that’s not your thing. diners can also order from a selection of tacos (steak, shrimp, grilled cactus), and more filling traditional Mexican plates like the Chicken Mole, Guac Sizzle Fajita, and Carne a la Tampiquena, among others.

Even if Mexican food isn’t your style, stop by for happy hours and take advantage of their half priced specialty cocktails, wine, and beer. As for the tequila menu, you’ll find almost as many options as there are guac flavors. And, yes, there are plenty of margaritas to choose from, too.

For now, the restaurant’s only location is in New York City, but hopefully this will inspire more restaurants of its kind in the future.
