Bengaluru, Explore The Culinary Landscape of Bengal This Week
Bengali cuisine is not just about food – it celebrates a feeling that most people associate with home. There’s good news for bengalies away from home, or for anyone else who has always wanted to understand the craze behind ‘bong’ food. Setting the mood for the grand Durga Puja, Indian Kitchen, Bangalore, is hosting a Bengali Food Festival with a spread of delicious food and sweet indulgences from Bengal.
Bengali cuisine is known for its subtle yet fiery flavours, and its spread of confectioneries and desserts. It also has the only traditionally developed multi-course tradition with food served course-wise rather than all at once. With an emphasis on fish, and mustard as the hero in many dishes, vegetables and lentils are served with rice as a staple diet.
What’s On The Menu?
Sample the season’s freshest Illish mach, a delicacy Bengalis drool over and the best quality Mishti Doi too. Also, gorge on a mouth-watering spread of authentic bengali food such Illisher Jhol, Sorse Illish, Shorshe Bata Diye Rui Macher Jhol, Macher Kalia, Aloo Poshto and Kosha Mangsho. Wondering what all these foreign-sounding names are? Go find out at Indian Kitchen! We’re sure it will be delicious.
