You Better Believe It, PETA Says Beer Is Better For You Than Milk
You’re not imagining that headline, we’re serious about this. As is PETA. So serious that they sponsored a billboard in Madison, Wisconsin that says “It’s official: Beer is better for you than milk”.
This poster lists all the great things that beer does for the human body, to counter the so-called benefits of milk. What are these benefits, you ask? Strengthening bones and aiding longevity. And as for milk, it is linked to obesity, diabetes, and cancer. They even ended the poster by adding “Drink responsibly: don’t drink milk”.
Soon after the poster went up, PETA Executive VP Tracy Reiman said in a blogpost by the company that, “alcohol in moderation can be good for you, but there’s no way to consume dairy foods responsibly when they harm our health and cause billions of cows to suffer”.
It’s our responsibility to teach the new generation about the dairy industry. We’re in the role of showing this new generation what’s going on behind the scenes in the dairy industry, how that milk comes to get into a glass and all the cruelty that’s associated with it,” said Daniel Carron from PETA.
The blogpost also adds that the consumption of milk causes animal suffering on a massive scale when calves are separated from their mothers, which causes distress to both.
While this might make some people happy, it’s also a known fact that PETA has made lots of comments like this before. We’ve all been told that milk is great for us and everyone likes beer, so the key here is that everything in moderation is good for the soul. And even take everything PETA says with a pinch of salt, do your own research and more importantly, make your own decisions.
