Blooming Baked Apples Recipe
Instructions
- Set the oven to 375 degrees to preheat.
- Slowly and gently, slice off the top ¼ to ⅓ of the apples.
- Scoop out the core using one of those tiny scoops.
- Then, use a sharp knife to make two, deep circular cuts around the center of the apple.
- Turn the apple over and slice narrow vertical cuts all the way around the apple.
- Flip the apples and place them in an oven safe dish and put two caramel cubes in the center of each apple.
- Put butter and brown sugar in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir slightly and continue heating for 30 seconds.
- Remove and stir in flour and cinnamon. Spoon the mixture on the top of both apples.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes. Peep in on them after the first 20 minutes.
- Remove and lift the apples carefully into bowls.
- Drizzle with more caramel and sprinkle with cinnamon.
