With the celebration of Songkran, New Year in Thailand, where water is of significance, Nara brings water to the Raigad district of Maharashtra and here’s how.
Songkran Celebrations
New Year is celebrated in a unique way in Thai culture and water is of importance as it is regarded as a purifier of bad luck and grievances. On Songkran, water is allowed to trickle down the Buddha statues, collected by the masses and then trickled onto the shoulders of the elders. The modern version sees a kingdom-wide water fight in the month of April which is the hottest month in Thailand.
Nara’s Support To Raigad
Keeping the significance of water, Nara has initiated the noble cause of providing water to the Raigad district of Maharashtra on the occasion of Songkran. They’ve tied up with the Swades Foundation and together this team will be creating rain-water harvesting measures and water storage facilities. Plus, the will also be distributing 200 liters of potable water every day of the year.
