Cop Beats Up The Cashier On Being Presented The Food Bill

on

In a restaurant in Thane, cops came in to have a meal and on being presented a bill for what they had consumed, they beat up the cashier and other staff as well. The incident was recorded on the CCTV camera of the eatery and shows the policemen dressed in civil cloths assaulting the cashier with heavy blows. When trying to control him, he continued to kick another person.

Not only this, the furious policeman hit the bar manager and waiters as well according to the owner, Umesh Karkera. “Our crime was that we gave them a bill for their food and liquor. Their action has been caught on the CCTV camera. We have the proof,” he told NDTV.

Karkera also added that the cops were frequent as his restaurant. “They order alcohol and always pay half the price shown on the menu. We never say anything. Even on that day, they ordered food and alcohol and asked for the bill. However, when they received the bill of Rs. 2,000, they got angry and one of them started assaulting us,” Mr Karkera said.

He has gone to lodge a complaint against the cops immediately but no FIR has been registered yet. He has also taken to twitter, tagging Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and tweeting about the incident. He was called in to record a statement on Monday afternoon.
