Enjoy Authentic Indonesian Dishes At This Food Pop Up In Chennai
Indonesian cuisine is one of the most vibrant and colourful cuisines in the world. Full of flavour, Indonesians believe in giving a “kick start” to their palate with the heat of chilli and the sour crunch of pickles. So, the meals generally comprise of rice, sambal and pickles with small amounts of meats, seafood or vegetables.
If you are a fan of the cuisine, we have the perfect place for you to indulge in some mouth-watering Nasi Goreng, a dish that is considered as the national dish of Indonesia. A meal of stir-fried rice spiced with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce), shallot, garlic, tamarind and chilli and accompanied by other ingredients, mainly egg, chicken, prawns or salted dried fish, it can be found almost everywhere from the street hawker carts to the restaurants.
Eat some local street favourites like Gado Gado, a tangy Indonesian salad with Sambal Kecang, the Nagasari and of course traditional slowly cooked delicacies like the Gule Kambing (meat stew) and Soto Syam (a one-dish tangy and spicy meal).
Brought to you by Priyadarshini Gupta, an Amul Masterchef All India Top 30 contestant, she is bringing the taste of Indonesia to the city after a long culinary exploration of the cuisine with a local chef. The Indonesian food pop up will be held from November 24th-26th at Ashvitha Bistro.
