With Diwali less than a fortnight away, all that our to-do lists are filled with is gifts to buy for our loved ones. And more often than not, the gifting purchasing spree is not devoid of stepping out of your comfy PJs and hitting a supermarket and/or mall. But that may change this year.
Cadbury’s parent company, Mondelez India, gets your plight. The company announced yesterday its entry into direct online sales for its range of products as part of efforts to tap into the gifting segment, reports Economic Times. Cadbury’s products will now be available for online purchase at www.cadburygifting.in.

This new website will not only act as an additional platform for consumers connect directly with the brand, but it will also let the confectionary giant make a mark in the corporate gifting segment, especially during festive gifting, Mondelez India said in a statement.
Mondelez India e-commerce Lead Abhishek Ahluwalia said: “We have identified a massive opportunity in the corporate gifting space that we aim to leverage through this platform.”
For logistics, Mondelez India is teaming up with third parties and has already partnered up with Olympia Industries Ltd. Customers will not be charged an shipping fee for orders above INR 299.
“We are focusing our investments strategically on associations that help us develop best in class sales and distribution proficiencies with strong go-to-market capabilities,” Ahluwalia added.
This is not the chocolate mogul’s first big e-commerce move. The announcement comes shortly after Mondelez India penned a deal with e-commerce major Amazon this July to sell chocolates and sweets through the popular online marketplace.
