Food Destinations Matter To Indians Who Enjoy Travelling
According to a research conducted by booking.com, about 67 percent Indians choose their travel destination based on the food and cuisine the place has to offer reports the Economic Times. The research ‘Taste of Travel’ was conducted on a global basis and it has shown that food matters to travellers significantly.

The research conducted further reveals that about 49 percent on Indian travellers are in the process of planning a food tourism trip in this year. The Economic Times reports that this research was commissioned by booking.com and for this, 56,727 adults across 30 markets were surveyed. The results conducted on Indian travellers included 2023 respondents and these were shortlisted based on age which had to above 18 years and whether or not they’ve travelled at least once last year.

This research ‘Taste of Travel’ also revealed that New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur and Candolim are amongst the top five cities to experience local cuisines of India. Top five destinations for experiencing Indian street food were also identified – Kolkata, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi.
