Get Your Food Pronunciation Right With Luke Bryan & Jimmy Fallon

on

Have you ever went over to an exotic – read, a place you’ve never visited and know about only because they have great tasting food – street food stall and just stood there wondering “how do I order that without sounding like an idiot”? Well, you’re not alone, because up until this Monday Luke Bryan was sailing in that boat as well. Or so he suggests on his recent visit to The Tonight Show.

Bryan along with the show’s host presented a quick musical sketch that revolved around the former’s inability to pronounce ‘Gyro’. Yes, the Greek dish. So how did the duo solve the issue? What’s the use of being a singer-songwriter if you can’t sing your food woes? Needless to say, Bryan and Fallon broke into a song “I Don’t Know How to Pronounce Gyro”, which, by the way, was a really good composition considering it was only a spoof!

“I was born in Southwest Georgia/ Always tried to make my daddy proud/ But of all the things I learned there/ Never learned to say that word out loud,” sings Bryan of his Greek food blues. “I could eat a thousand ounces/ If I just knew how to pronounce it,” the host chimed in. You get the drift. With lyrics that’ll crack you up and an issue that most of us find totally relatable (and may we add, excellent vocals!), the two managed to put on a hilarious skit.

Watch the whole sketch and song in the video below and find out whether Bryan got his pronunciation right or not.

Also, if that is actually Jimmy Fallon’s voice, we don’t know why he hasn’t stepped into the music industry!
