GORB Gave Voting Mumbaikars A Sweet Treat On Election Day

on

February the 21st saw many a Mumbaikar arrive late for work or clock out early. However, rather than being chastised they were applauded; most had inked fingers that showed that they had cast a vote for the for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections.

As a reward for voters, a few eateries in the city offered verified voters a free meal or discount; the  Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India asked its members to offer discounts of food bills and bookings made between February 21st and 23rd and over 7000 restaurants participated.

A Sweet Treat From GORB

On its part, GORB, a food preparation and delivery venture offered people a free dessert. All a GORB user had to do was share a selfie with their inked finger using the hashtag #MumbaikarVoteKar and tagging GORB. Everyone who did, got a coupon code which allowed them to get a free dessert from GORB.

Within four hours, GORB received 10,000 entries on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and reached 1 lakh consumers.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Mayank Singh, Business Head, GORB said “It is extremely important for people to cast their vote and make their voices heard by electing leaders that will help shape the future of our city. At GORB, we wanted to ensure that we do our bit to encourage people to go to the polling booths and reward them for casting their vote. We were thrilled to see the overwhelming response we received from this activity.”

GORB was launched by Essel Group’s Living Entertainment Enterprises in 2016 and delivers multi cuisine fare across Mumbai. It always real-time tracking and accepts payments through cash, cards, net banking and mobile wallets. Head here to learn more.
