Have You Visited These Bollywood Themed Restaurants Around The World?
You don’t need us to tell you that Bollywood is big. It’s big in India, it’s big in America; I even remember an experience in Egypt where street vendors got uber excited about being patronised by Indians who they could talk to about Amitach Bachchan. That said, here are some restaurants that are entirely dedicated to a love for Bollywood. Have you visited any of these?
Mumbai Matinee
Where: Noida
Named after a 2003 Bollywood romantic comedy, the restaurant is decorated with posters of popular movies like ‘Mother India’ and has a menu that boasts of Continental cuisine as well as Mumbai favourites like the vada pav.
Ohri’s Eatmore 70mm
Where: Hyderabad
This restaurant is also decorated with posters and photographs of Bollywood movies and stars. Scattered across the restaurant are mannequins of film stars and lavish furnishing that try to mimic the opulence of Bollywood.
Bhaijaanz
Where : Mumbai
This eatery in Mumbai celebrates all things Salman Khan; from the decor to the menu, which is arranged according to titles of films he has starred in. Following his acquittal from that all too famous fit and run case, the restaurant offered meals at RS.1 for the day!
Garam Dharam
Where: Delhi
This recently opened restaurant is a tribute to Dharmendra with the decor, cutlery and menu drawing inspiration from him and movies he has acted in.
Papadoms
Where: Sundeland, UK
Opened by an Indian-origin chef, this restaurant is inspired by both roadside restaurants in India and Bollywood. It’s been greatly appreciated by most patrons.
Bollywood Bites
Where: Mombasa, Kenya
Nestled in Mombasa’s Nyali Cinemax, Bollywood Bites is a true tribute to Bollywood. It serves pure vegetarian, Indian fare and has walls wallpapered with scenes from famous movies. Hema Malini once visited the restaurant and signed the wallpaper!
