Hold The Diet Because Pasta Might Actually Help You Lose Weight
Ever since the beginning of time, there has always been the conception that carbs are bad for you leading many of us on a diet quick to drop pasta in favor of a ‘healthier alternative’ (read: some sort of greens). However, it turns out that we may have been a tad hasty in dismissing the delicious Italian delicacy!
New research suggests that a yummy meal of pasta may actually do you more good than harm in your quest to lose weight. So, having a bowl of pasta on your cheat day isn’t going to send you to hell. Here’s how the research was conducted.
All 2,500 study participants were instructed to follow a low glycemic-index diet (eating foods that keep you fuller longer and don’t spike your blood sugar), eating only pasta instead of other carbs. They didn’t eat many noodles — just about half a cup, or a single serving, every week for 12 weeks. When researchers analyzed the results, they found that, on average, people lost a little over a pound.
Take that Keto diet, a little bit of carbs never killed anyone.
