Home Food Meal Service Yumist Secures $2 Million in Funding
In more proof that food startups are not facing a funding slump, online daily meal service, Yumist has announced that it has raise $2 million in a pre-series A funding round. Investors included Unilazer Ventures, which lead the round, Orios Venture Partners and Steven Lurie.
Home Cooked Meals To Your Door
The Gurgaon based Yumist launched in August this year, with operations in Gurgaon, South Delhi and Bangalore. Through both an android app and a website, it allows customers to scroll through freshly made, home cooked meal options based on the area in which they are ordering from. With a menu for lunch, snacks and dinner it’s a good choice for many as it offers low priced options starting at RS.65.
The Future of Yumist
Reports say that Yumist plans to expand into Mumbai and Pune in the future as well as to increase operations in Gurgaon, Delhi and Bangalore. The funds will also be used for marketing, tech development and data collection.
Additionally, Ronnie Screwvala, entrepreneur extraordinaire, will join Yumist’s board, as his company, Unilazer Ventures was a chief investor.
