How Many More McNuggets In That Bucket?

Looks like Ronald McDonald is taking lessons from Colonel Sanders. Or maybe he too feels that 40 nuggets are just not enough. Either way, as long as we’re getting a bucket full of the hot and juicy McNuggets, we’re ready to believe anything!

McDonald’s Japan has the solution to your nugget cravings (that is just not satiated by 40 pieces of the fried chicken nugget). The fast food chain went ahead and added exactly 8 more to make it an almost round figure.

But Why 48?

The 48-piece bucket is a limited time offer as McD Japan ties up with J-pop group NGT48 in Niigata Prefecture.

The group is apparently also known as Nugget48. Because, vowels. Anywho, the similarity between the names led to this delicious tie-up and a bumped up number of McNuggets in our meal so hurray!

Such Promotion. Much Faces.

The now 2,256 calorie meal will come along with a commemorative card featuring any one of the 25 members of the gigantic group. In addition to the ‘Japanese trump card’, the boxes come decorated with one of two images of NGT48’s members.

And just to make sure that customers know and recognise by heart the members of NGT48, the 38 branches of McDonald’s in Niigata will also be using paper tray covers that bear the singers’ images.

The NGT48-Piece Chicken McNugget pack goes on sale December 1 for 1,800 yen (US$15), and will be available until McDonald’s runs out of the special packages, reports Rocket News 24.
