on

India-made products are on top of the list of rejected items by the US Food and Drug Administration. In 2015, food products manufactured in India have been rejected more than products from any other country. The notable items on the list released on the website of USFDA were made by Haldiram’s, a Indian sweets and savouries manufacturer.

The FDA rejected many of Halidram’s products and has listed out various items under the snacks categories in its ‘Import Refusal Report’. The charge statement against Haldiram’s products reads, “The article is subject to refusal of admission pursuant to section 801(a)(3) in that it appears to be adulterated because it contains a pesticide chemical, which is in violation of section 402(a)(2)(B).”
