Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscar-Themed Snack Boxes Are The Most Thoughtful Party Favours
We’ve heard of seen at length, all the effort that goes into creating the lavish spread at major galas and award nights. Especially, the Academy Awards, which has for years been Chef Wolfgang Puck’s canvas to be painted in opulent gourmet colors. However, this year, American television host Jimmy Kimmel took the Oscars’ food and party game up a thoughtful notch with the most socially aware party favors – themed lunch boxes.
Kimmel shared an image of his packed lunch boxes and an image of what was inside them on Twitter, with a caption that read: “We don’t like it when people are hungry – so we provided lunchboxes with snacks for everyone at the #Oscars and included a donation to the @LAFoodBank for each one.”

The picture featured nine boxes, each printed with illustrations of movies that were nominated this year for ‘Best Picture’, namely, “Call Me by Your Name”; “Darkest Hour”; “Dunkirk”; “Get Out”; “Lady Bird”; “Phantom Thread”; “The Post”; “The Shape of Water” (winner); and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”. Though what was inside these boxes was equally – if not more – interesting than the outside. The meal boxes contained potato chips, gummy bears, cookies, and a granola bar along with a napkin and a pack of Listerine breath strips. Such details.
Yep, not only were all the attendees at the 90th Academy Awards treated to a gorgeous banquet by Chef Puck and his team, they also took home Oscar-themed lunch boxes. And these boxes served a purpose that was not just curing the attendees’ hunger. Kimmel’s handwritten note, which was inside each box explained, “It wouldn’t be right to make you sit through this without snacks. Please don’t throw them at me”, Kimmel signed off, adding a postscript that said, “A donation to the L.A. Regional Food Bank has been made for each box.”
Just when we thought that nothing could possibly surpass a ruby chocolate dessert, the Jimmy Kimmel Live host proved us wrong!
