Kerala’s Cuisine Comes To Bengaluru At The Evergreen Kerala Food Festival
Kappa Chakka Kandhari is the name of 3 special vegetables (tapioca, jackfruit and chilly) which plays a big role in Kerala’s cuisine. Although there are several restaurants in Bengaluru serving the most mouth-watering dishes based from the cuisine of Kerala, the authenticity of it is sometimes lacking. This weekend, you can experience the wonders of authentic Malayali cuisine at The Evergreen Kerala Food Festival, a 3 day festival to celebrate the glorious food from God’s own country.
Kappa Chakka Kandhari is a brainchild of Chef Regi Mathew (Benjarong and Ente Keralam), John Paul and Augustine KV, collaborating to bring home cooked and authentic dishes from Kerala to the people longing for some good food. The food festival will feature plenty of dishes cooked exquisitely by Chef Regi Mathew and the stalls at the festival will be brimming with authentic varieties of local food from Kerala.
The special buffet dinner, as part of the food festival will feature all the dishes you know and love, with over 54 varieties of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian spread. The spread will feature dishes like kappa and chakka cakes, beef cooked with chakka and plenty of dessert options like the Kandhari ice-cream.
The Kerala Food Festival will take place at St. John’s Medical College Auditorium (opposite BDA Complex), from 29th to 31st, 11am to 8pm. The entry for the food festival is free. The special buffet dinner as part of the food festival is priced at Rs. 999 per person and you can book your tickets for the dinner at Bookmyshow.
