Do You Know What The Singular Form of Spaghetti Is?
We were definitely shook when we discovered that the plural form of beef is (supposedly) beeves (I still don’t believe it). However, scrolling through my newsfeed I came across a question I most certainly didn’t know the answer to (and I always ace those ‘Are you smarter than a 5th grader’ quizzes). The question? What is the singular form of the word spaghetti?
Seems simple enough doesn’t it? However, I was stunned to find that my mind drew a complete blank (even blanker than when I first sat down for a math exam). Who knew that spaghetti even was plural? I always thought of it as a collective – both singular and plural (sort of like sheep).
Unfortunately for me, upon reading the answer I almost slumped into the depths of despair – it was so obvious, how could I have been so blind? The singular form of spaghetti is – wait for it – spaghetto! Lucky for me, I wasn’t the only one whose life was changed by the revelation. Twitter responded accordingly with a slew of responses.

I totally get why they call it a scoop of gelato now! My world has been changed forever – next time I get ice cream I’ll be sure to ask for 2 scoops of gelati!
