Kolkata’s Iconic Ice Cream Maker, Pabrai’s To Enter Mumbai

After gathering a legion of followers in Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai and Ahmedabad, Pabrai’s Fresh & Naturelle Ice Creams has (finally, some might say) entered Mumbai. Pabrai’s is known for its unique ice cream flavors.

The History

Pabrai’s began in 1985, when Anuvrat Pabrai started an ice cream shop in Kolkata for his wife Tulika. While they originally sold Valdilal and Kwality ice creams in October 208, they began commercial operations.

At this time, they started manufacturing unique ice creams, inspired by natural flavors.

The Flavors

Today, therefore Parbai’s manufacturers a range of exciting flavors including cinnamon, ginger, wasabi, noeln gur, and peppermint and banana toffee ice creams.

Some flavors are incredibly complex; the paan flavor for instance calls for 17 different ingredients while the ingredients for wasabi ice cream are imported from Japan.

Additionally, the ice cream makers are careful to ensure that their flavors appeal to the palates of the region they’re in. In South India, for instance they created an Indian filter coffee flavor, understanding South Indians’ distaste for instant coffees.

Celebrity Followers

It is this attention to detail, we’re sure, which has gathered Parbai its vast collection of loyal fans. These include well known personalities like President Pranab Mukherjee, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and even Hilary Clinton and the Japanese Emperor Akihito.
