Lay’s Has Announced The Winner Of Its “Do Us A Flavor” Contest

on

Every year, America’s “Do Us A Flavor” contest brings in hundreds of new entries who think their flavor is good enough to be the next big thing at Lay’s. The winner walks away with bragging rights, and the small matter of their bank balance increasing by $1,000,000.

This year there was a surprising amount of tasty entrants, such as the Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Popper, or Avocado Toast. However, the winner of the grand prize went to Crispy Taco, created by Ellen Sarem from San Antonio, Texas.

According to Delish, Sarem says tacos were the first meal she cooked for her now-fiancé, and though she got off to a rough start – she forgot the cheese and salsa, oops – she has since perfected the recipe, and now it’s available in chip form.

“You can taste the crunch of the taco shell, the spiciness of the beef, the sharpness of the cheddar, even the freshness of the lettuce, it’s amazing,” Sarem said in a press video. “Lay’s did an amazing job.”
Sarem was one of three finalists in this year’s “Do Us A Flavor” competition, along with Lindsay Hoffman’s Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese and Gregory Pope’s Fried Green Tomato flavors.
No word yet on what Sarem plans to do with her winnings, but, we think it’s safe to say that she’ll taco bout it for years to come!
