Look Out For the Game of Thrones Wines That Tyrion and Cersei Would Be Very Proud Of
If there is one thing that Game of Thrones provides more than bloodshed and nudity, it is wine. The characters are seen drinking all kinds of wine through every single episode and more than that, it’s obviously believed that wine solves everything. And lots of fans of the show turn to wine to keep them company through each painful or exciting episode.
So it only makes sense that there is now Game of Thrones wine that can make the viewing experience that much more fun.
HBO and Vintage Wine Estates have teamed up to produce a line of Game of Thrones wines that includes a Chardonnay, a red blend and a reserve-style Cabernet Sauvignon that will be available in Spring of 2017.
Pat Roney, president and CEO of Vintage Wine Estates said in a statement, “Any fan of Game of Thrones appreciates the role wine plays in the saga. We are very excited to partner with HBO to give those fans some delicious wines to sip as they plot their own paths to the Iron Throne.”
The wines come at a time when the show is also coming to an end and this seems like the perfect way to celebrate seven great seasons. Jeff Peters, director of licensing and retail for HBO spoke about this and said, “Given the prominent role of wine on Game of Thrones and our previous success in the beverage category, an officially licensed wine for the show feels like a natural extension for our fans. Game of Thrones wines most definitely will add to the fan experience as the battle for the Iron Throne heats up heading into the final seasons.”
In 2014, there was Game of Thrones beer which was made in partnership with Brewery Ommegang and later that year, an Australian winery released unofficial wines called “Wines of Westeros”.
The wines will be available in America, obviously, but you could get someone to bring it for you when they visit India next. Suggested retail price for Game of Thrones Chardonnay and Game of Thrones Red Wine is $19.99, and Game of Thrones Cabernet Sauvignon is $39.99.
