Most Starred Chef In The World Dies At 73
Joël Robuchon, the pioneering French culinary expert, died of cancer at the age of 73. He was a huge personality in the culinary world and many renowned chefs have been mentored by him – Gordon Ramsay is one of them.
Several tweets went out from various chefs all around the world who were heartbroken by the news:
Andrew Zimmern tweeted – “Joel Robuchon 1947-2018 A very sad day for any of us in our industry and for the millions of other who were touched by this amazing man. When I was 23 I almost crapped myself being part of a team cooking him a birthday dinner in NYC. Over the years he was beyond kind to me. #sad ”
Dave Change tweeted – “RIP Chef Joel Robuchon. You the changed the whole game. I always thought of you as the Bill Walsh of gastronomy.”
His restaurants around the world held over 30 Michelin stars. Robuchon had also been declared “Chef of the Century” by the Gault et Millau cooking guide in 1990. He also opened a culinary school in a Montmorillon, France in 2018. Amongst his most celebrated recipes, the dish he was most known for was his pomme purée.

It is a very sad day for the global culinary industry and the food world is already mourning the loss of this spectacular French chef.
