Which Of These Pies Is Your Dessert Love? #POLL

on

Holiday or not, pies remain to be a popular dessert all around the year. Yummy piecrust topped with sweet filling layered with soft pastry dough (or not), there is no way you don’t like this particular sweet dish!

The dessert is widely loved and consumed in sweet and savoury across the globe. But did you know that pies were a thing way before we can even imagine? The dish was invented out of sheer necessity, as it was easy-to-store, easy-to-carry, and long-lasting foods on long journeys, in particular at sea. Over time travelers across various Western countries figured that the pie not only solved their entire storage and nutrition problem but with certain modifications to the flour and crust, it even tasted amazing. And then the Pilgrims and early settlers introduced America to the ingredients and techniques available to them in the New World. Their first pies were based on berries and fruits pointed out to them by the Native North Americans. And the rest, as they say, is history. Delicious, baked history.

In modern times, pies are often romanticized with winters, especially winter festivals like Christmas and Thanksgiving. With both of them only a month and week away, respectively, we figured it’d be fun to know what kind of pies you all liked. Vote for your favourite sweet pies below and let us know!
