Prawn Vindaloo Recipe
Prawn vindaloo is a popular Goan dish that is surprisingly simple to make.
A variety of spices and a good amount of chillies are combined to make a vindaloo paste that the prawns are then cooked in. Adjust the spices as per your taste.
Serve the prawn vindaloo with bread and steamed rice.

Ingredients
- 1 kg Prawns
- 2 medium potatoes chopped
- 3 tbsp ghee
- A handful of curry leaves
- 1 small Onion finely sliced
- salt to taste
To make the prawn vindaloo masala
- 1/2 tsp peppercorns
- 3 tsp Cumin seeds
- 12 small dry Kashmiri chilies
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 cardamoms
- 10 garlic cloves
- 3 tbsp Vinegar

Instructions
- Grind all the ingredients to make the masala into a thick paste.
- Sauté the onion and curry leaves in the ghee until the onions brown.
- Add the ground paste and toss for tone to two minutes.
- Stir in the potatoes and pour in water to cover them.
- Cover the pan and cook until the potatoes turn soft.
- Once soft, add the prawns, cover the pan and continue cooking.
- Cook until the prawns are thoroughly cooked and mix in salt to taste.
- Take of the stove, serve and enjoy!
