Coachella Mahi Mahi Tacos Recipe
The dish sounds like the verse of a Caribbean song drifted over to the Mexican landmass, and trust us, it is as exotic as it sounds! The Mahi Mahi Tacos are a popular Mexican snack the pack a gastronomical delight complete with juicy mahi mahi fish (yes, Mahi Mahi is a kind of fish found in off-shore temperate, tropical and subtropical waters) fillets, sour cream, ginger, lime, avocados, and a tropically fruity twist with some diced mangoes and pineapple.
The Mahi Mahi taco is super special and widely loved for its eclectic choice of fillings that range from seafood to fruit. These tacos are as delicious as they are healthy, and quick to put together. Follow the recipe below to whip up a batch of yummy yummy mahi mahi tacos this Coachella summer!

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 6 3 ounce mahi mahi fillets
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp minced fresh ginger root
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 large mango peeled, seeded, diced
- 1 cup fresh pineapple diced
- 1 avocado peeled, pitted, diced
- 1 jalapeno pepper minced
- 6 ”-6” flour tortillas
- 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- salt and pepper to taste

- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the mahi-mahi with salt and pepper and cook the fillets in the hot oil until the fish is golden brown on each side, about 3 minutes per side.
- Meanwhile, whisk together the sour cream, lime juice, ginger, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper to taste; set aside.
- Gently combine the mango, pineapple, avocado, and jalapeno in a bowl.
- Place a cooked mahi-mahi fillet into the center of a warmed tortilla. Scoop some of the mango salsa onto the fish, then drizzle with the sour cream sauce, and finish with a generous pinch of chopped cilantro.
