Masoor Dal Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup masoor dal
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3 tomatoes chopped
- 1/3 cup Oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 5 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 1 inch ginger root chopped
- 2 Green chilies chopped
- Water
- A handful of coriander

Instructions
- Rinse the dal well and soak it for three hours.
- Combine the dal, 3 cups of water, the turmeric powder, tomatoes and salt and put it in the pressure cooker.
- Cook on a low flame for ten minutes.
- After three whistles, switch off the flame.
- Heat the oil in a wok and fry the onions until translucent.
- Fry the garlic, ginger and chilies.
- Then, fry the garam masala and chilly powder, stirring constantly.
- Once the spices start sticking to the pan, add it to the cooked dal.
- Stir in the mixture and allow the dal to simmer for a few minutes.
- Finally, garnish the dal with chopped coriander.
