Panakam Recipe
Indian festivals and auspicious occasions are synonymous with delicious food not just because of all the fancy treats that are served during the festivities, but also for the yummy prasadam that is offered to the deities. One such popular prasadam is panakam. A popular sweet drink, panakam (as well as chalimidi and vadapappu) is prepared during Ram Navami as an offering to Lord Rama. It also served as a chilled refreshment during summers.
The decadent jiggery-infused drink is spiced with a little crushed pepper, some dry ginger powder, and a dash of cardamom. Although the panakam is had along with the chalimidi and vadapappu, but we’ll just be talking about how to make a refreshing and sweet pankam. - 4 tbsp greated jaggery
- 2 cups Water
- pinch Aof dry ginger powder
- pinch aof Cardamom powder
- pinch Aof coarsely crushed pepper
Ingredients

- Mix the jaggery with water and stir till you get a homogenous liquid. Strain to remove any impurities.
- Now add the dry ginger powder, cardamom, and pepper.
- Serve.
