Twilight Grandma’s Lasagna Recipe
Bella tries to find herself home at a rainy town, Forks while living with her father. She likes to take care of him and makes him homely meals like this delicious lasagna.

- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 3/4 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup minced onions
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 2 cans canned tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup Water
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 4 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 16 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 3/4 pound mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
- Cook sausages, ground beef, onion, and garlic in a large pot or Dutch oven on medium heat.
- Once they are brown in colour, add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water and stir.
- To this mixture add sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning salt, pepper and half of the fresh parsley.
- Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 1 1/2 hours and stir occasionally.
- Boil salted water and cook the lasagna noodles for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Drain and rinse the noodles in cold water.
- Mix ricotta, egg, salt and the leftover parsley in another bowl.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a baking dish, ladle about 1 1/2 cups of the meat sauce.
- Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta cheese mix on top of the noodles.
- Add one third of the mozzarella cheese slices and ladle another 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle 1/4 cup of the parmesan cheese and repeat the layers.
- Top the second layer with leftover mozzarella and parmesan.
- Spray the covering foil with cooking oil on the inward side and cover the baking dish.
- Bake the lasagna for 25 minutes and then bake for another 25 minutes without the foil.
- Cool the lasagna at least 15 minutes before serving.
