Shahid Kapoor Is On This Special Diet For ‘Padmavati’

on

Over the past few years, we’ve seen Shahid Kapoor portray some really diverse characters on screen. From a bedevilled young man in Haider to a drug addict rockstar in Udta Punjab, Kapoor has been nothing short of spot on in all the roles. And the one thing that keeps him in his character’s skin is probably his dedication towards a flawless physical form. A trait that is quite evident if you follow the star on social media.

Keeping up with the hard work and perseverance, the Ragoon actor has now shifted on to a new specially designed diet to get into the skin of his next on-screen character – Raja Ratan Singh – for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s (yet another) magnum opus Padmavati.

Kapoor, who will be seen playing the role of an Indian royalty, has to sport a lean and fit form for the role. The actor has been put on a diet closely worked upon by celebrity Canadian chef Kelvin Cheung, who also happens to be a successful restaurateur with an establishment in Mumbai.

Taking into consideration his dietary habits, the meal plan has been devised sans any meat but focuses on wholesomeness and taste. Divided into three meals and two snacks a day, the diet is rich in greens, high protein grains, legumes and healthy carbohydrates. “Shahid has always been fit and healthy but he also needs an energy boost for these long working hours. So the aim is to give him stronger muscle mass while maintaining the aesthetics of his look”, the chef added.

Bhansali’s movie also stars actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead roles and is slated to release later this year.
