Some Of India’s Top Celebrity Chefs Teamed Up To Bring Delicious Food To A Children’s Center In Delhi
Sometime before Children’s Day in mid-November, children at Khushi, a shelter home in Delhi were asked what their biggest ‘exotic’ food dream was. Many named seemingly common dishes like pizza and pasta.
Especially for Children’s Day, Feeding India, an NGO, invited four of India’s best chefs to the shelter to prepare the children’s dream foods.
Meet The Chefs
Chef Abishek Basu, the executive chef at The Park, a swanky hotel near Jantar Mantar, Chef Ritu Dalmia, the co-owner of Cafe Diva and corporate Chefs Manish Mehrotra and Manjit Gill of the Indian Accent restaurant and the ITC Group respectively teamed up to create a delicious spread for the children.
“I hate to say it but it is not only about doing good for someone, but we do it for our own selfish reasons, because for those few minutes you feel good about yourself,” said Ritu Dalmia in the video that was made recording the occasion.
Whatever the motives the, excitement and joy on the children’s face was clear as they cut cakes and enjoyed pasta, gajar halwa tarts, smoothies and french fries.
