Speciality Tea Startup The Kettlery Raises $1 Mn From Abhinav Bindra’s Venture Fund Company
Ahmedabad-based speciality tea startup The Kettlery has raised $1 million from Abhinav Bindra’s Shooting Starts Sports LLP and Franchise India Brands. The newly raised funds will be used to set up 100 tea boutique outlets in the next five years.
The Kettlery was founded in 2015 targeted to bring an exclusive range of the best gourmet tea varieties, health tisanes, tea brewing and drinking accessories along with designer tea sets. The brand has more than 75 tea blends and over 50 tea accessories and tea sets from across the globe. The main targets for the stores are tea connoisseurs and aspiring consumers who want to develop a healthy tea lifestyle.
Sandeep Kotecha, co-founder and director, said, “The funding will provide us the right support from infrastructure and support to expand in different markets and become a pioneer in building India’s finest global speciality tea brand.”
“The trend of consuming tea has been a change with more evolved taste buds of Indian society. Tea, these days, is not only a necessity of one’s daily life but has become a lifestyle product. The various varieties, blends and flavour of tea have made the market grow not only in India but also across the globe,” added Sonya Chowdhry, managing director, Franchise India Brands.
Earlier this year, Teabox received debt funding from DBS Bank Ltd. The speciality tea brand was earlier backed by Ratan Tata.
