The Sassy Spoon Whips Up Soul Satisfying Delicacies In Mumbai
Ever sat back and enjoyed a meal right from the first course to the last? Well, we did at The Sassy Spoon as each dish was made with absolute dedication by Chef Malcolm Pereira and his team. After relishing a hearty meal here, all we can say is that coming to this restaurant should be on the bucket list of all foodies in Mumbai.
Sassiest Of Them All
The quirky ambience and colourful, cheery décor greets you as you enter The Sassy Spoon. You can even pick your favourite songs at the jukebox and of course, the place is selfie worthy and the food insta worthy, and we’re not talking about just the looks. The flavours of the food speak for itself. We relished some skillet specials by Chef Pereira and after trying them we can’t wait to head back for the monsoon menu too!
First up was the Goan Choriz Skillet which was made by tossing peppers, boiled potatoes with spicy chorizo and topping it with luscious mac and queso. Each bite was heavenly and it is one of those cheat day dishes that make you feel like it was worth it. For all the cheese lovers, this dish is cheese haven and you’re going to love it.
Next up we tried the popular delicacy of The Sassy Spoon – Spaghetti with black truffle butter, shallots and mushroom. Oh wow! This dish was flavourful, light and simply marvellous. Made with simple ingredients and precision is all it took to make this an elegant, gourmet meal.
We scarcely ever walk out of a restaurant without a dessert and at this place we couldn’t help but have two of them. One was a blissful Blueberry Panna Cotta which was completely sugarless and is found under their guilt free indulgence menu. Perfect panna cotta, yes, with the wiggle and zero sugar didn’t stop it from being a lovely dessert.
Last but not the least was the Boozy Double Chocolate Brownie with Rum and Raisin Ice Cream. The server poured a shot of black rum on top of the sizzling brownie skillet and it was a smashing treat. The rum totally changed the otherwise regular dessert on most menus across the city. Escalating this classic was a great move and truly tickled our taste buds.
We loved the experience at The Sassy Spoon and it has found a place on our list of comfort food restaurants in Mumbai. Go try it out and who knows, maybe it’ll become one of your go to places.
