The Delhi Chapter
Started in 2004, Mumbai’s Theobroma café is the go-to hub for people craving some heavenly brownies and bakes in general. According to a Livemint report, the Mumbai-based patisserie is preparing to enter the NCR, with two outlets, initially. Managed by a Parsi family and founded by chef Kainaz Messman Harchandrai, the group is raising funds for the expansion, a top official informed the newspaper. The company is aiming to raise a sum of $5-$6 millions for the expansion.
That’s right; not one but two Theobroma outlets are all set to hit Delhi’s foodscape! Chief executive of the chain, Cyrus R Shroff said that Theobroma would use the capital to double its presence in Mumbai and also enter New Delhi with the launch of at least two outlets.

The two outlets will be located in Gurgaon and Noida. The Noida outlet will be in the fast-blooming DLF Mall Of India, while the Gurgaon outlet will be gracing the bustling Cyber Hub.
“A chunk of this capital will also be utilized to support back-end and front-end operations. So, funding would be utilized for capacity expansion as well as outlet expansion,” Shroff added.

So Delhiites can expect the highly awaited bakery to open its doors late in November or early December. The report also adds that based on the response in Delhi, the company will decide about its expansion plans in non-metro cities too. “We need to complete the fund-raising process as soon as possible as we need to embark on our expansion. So, we hope it to be completed in two-to-three months from now,” said Shroff.
Delhi is known for welcoming new outlets with wide-open drooling arms, and Theobroma should expect nothing less than that!
