There’s A Chile Mocha On Starbucks’ New Fall Menu
Typically, food chains across the US begin introducing pumpkin infused treats in their stores when Fall begins. Dunkin’ Donuts, for instance recently launched its fall pumpkin line up, while McDonald’s also launched a pumpkin flavoured drink. Global coffee chain, Starbucks is doing things a little differently this year; along with its pumpkin spice latte it’s also launching a chile mocha.
Getting Spicy At Starbucks
The chile mocha will be available from tomorrow in Starbucks outlets across the country.
It’s been inspired by the sweet and spicy combination in mole sauce and champurrado, a Mexican drink. It will combine espresso, steamed milk, cinnamon powder, paprika and cayenne peppers.
Flavours of Fall?
“When we think about fall, often people think about warmth and spice, like cinnamon and apple pie,” said Michelle Sundquist, senior product developer at Starbucks, in a statement.
Moving ahead with that association with spices, Starbucks created the chile mocha.
Meanwhile, the Pumpkin Spice Latte will also be launched on September 6th. It first made its appearance in 2003 and quickly gained a cult following, being affectionately named the PSL. For many, the Pumpkin Spice Latte marks the true beginning of fall and the changing of seasons.
Will the chile mocha achieve the same status? We’re waiting and watching.
