While it may be very difficult to replicate the taste and texture of butter, there are substitutes for butter that are great for cooking and baking. We haven’t included margarine and other traditional butter substitutes, instead concentrating on natural alternatives.
Here are 5 alternatives for butter for all your food and bakes.
Olive Oil
It’s not just Italians who need to have this in their kitchen. Extra virgin oil which is the purest form of olive oil contains a robust taste that is sure to highlight the flavour of your vegetables. If you’re baking, then better use the regular olive oil, although you might want to use less than the prescribed quantity of butter.
Macadamia Oil
This oil is made from cold pressing Macadamia nuts. This oil is a handy addition to your kitchen as it is rich in monounsaturated fats and essential fatty acids. But if you have a nut allergy, it’s best to stay away from it.
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
We needn’t say that this oil is extremely popular in India especially the south of India. recently, it has gained popularity in the West as well. It’s made from dried coconut pulp but also has a high smoking point which makes it perfect for sautéing and frying. While baking, use the same amount of oil as prescribed as butter.
Rice Oil
A beautiful and delicate oil that is perfect for baked goods. For sautéed dishes, the oil adds a nice aroma which will be well appreciated. Avoid it if you have a rice allergy.
Avocado Pulp
Avocado Pulp is rich and creamy in texture which makes it an excellent vegan substitute for butter. Avocado is also rich in monounsaturated fats and essential fatty acids.
