Walmart Will Have A State Fair Themed Restaurant Soon
Deep fried snickers bars, corn dogs and funnel cakes are typically foods you can only enjoy at legendary state fairs. Now, a Walmart in Texas will be serving deep fried treats and other state fair classics all year round in a new restaurant.
State Fair Treats
The new restaurant, simply named ‘State Fair Treats will be owned by Isaac Rousso and located inside a Plano, Texas Walmart.
Rousso is the two time winner of the Big Tex Choice Award for Most Creative (foods) in a state fair and will be serving some of his original dishes, like cookie fries (a mash up between cookies and French fries), funnel cake fries and deep fried bacon hash browns. It’ll also have regular state fair dishes like fried Pop-Tarts, deep-fried Cuban rolls and smoky bacon margaritas. Arteries, better prepare yourselves.
“Walmart was looking for a creative new food concept to energize high profile locations,” said Rousso to a local news station. He estimates that the restaurant will serve upto 2 million people in a year. It will open in about a month’s time.
