The World’s Most Expensive Taco Is $25,000 And Has Gold Flakes

on

There are very few people in the world who don’t like tacos or haven’t enjoyed the deliciousness of tacos. But there’s a new kind of taco that might stop everyone from spending their hard earned money on the dish.

Tacos, as a dish, can be modified to suit the need of the customer or modified depending on who is serving the food. Sure, like any dish a taco can be ruined by adding the wrong ingredients and elements, but it’s not the end of the world.

There’s a fancy vacation destination in Mexico that is taking things a little too far, possibly, with the inclusion of the most expensive taco known to anyone in the world. Chef Juan Licerio Alcala at Grand Velas Los Cabos Resort is serving a $25,000 taco, according to Agence France-Presse. Now if you don’t think that’s too much money, we need to have a serious conversation.

But why is it so expensive?

Brace yourself for this awesomeness. It’s a corn tortilla adorned with 24-karat gold flecks and filled with Kobe beef, shrimp, Almas Beluga caviar and black truffle-studded Brie. Then it’s topped with salsa made from Mortia chillies and civet coffee. And that’s not it. The dish is then finished off with some more gold flakes, because there’s no such thing as enough gold flakes.

As you have suspected, nobody has ordered this delicacy from Chef Alcala, because who has $25,000 just sitting around for a taco when you can not only head over to Taco Bell to get your taco cravings filled or make it at home.
