Pizza Express Clubs Food With Fashion At Its Select Citywalk Saket Outlet
When it comes to rolling out superior think-crust pizzas, Pizza Express has always been a step ahead in the Indian market. And taking a leap further, the pizza chain is going to introduce ‘The Runway Project’ at its Delhi outlet in Select Citywalk, Saket in a move to offer diners a signature hyperlocal experience.
“We are committed to creating spaces that are more than just restaurants and bars, but are addresses that are hyperlocal, while always being about curated experiences and settings that stimulate conversations,” says Ramit Mittal, CEO, Gourmet Investments Ltd.
The Runway Project
Launched with the single-minded focus on curating an enchanting design and fashion-centric experience that mirrors the ethos of its location as well as the community it is created for, the restaurants present a couture-inspired flavor. Think exquisite salads called Orange Is The New Black, Size 0, and Wardrobe Malfunction followed my a main course of Continental and Italian preparations that will bear equally fashion-forward names like Haute, Tom Baker, and The Makeover. Of course, there will be pizza too!
The chic space also gives special importance to the ambience, which is subdued and understated. The interiors that have been designed by Ayaz Basrai of Busride Studio pay an intriguing homage to the fashion industry. With Rorschach blots as an inspiration, the custom concrete walls along with the digital projections that animate the patterns in an ephemeral Kaleidoscopic treatment, where one can spot patterns and forms over a glass of champagne, create a truly gripping experience. The restaurant’s window display will also play a key role in setting the mood. It will exhibit seasonal fashion fresh out of young as well as established design studios.
“Each of our openings in India will be a communal hub of sorts known for great hospitality, distinctive design, whimsical decor and memorable times,” says Deepinder Batth, COO, Gourmet Invesments Ltd.
This Saket-based initiative follows in step with The Bandra Project, The Runway Project, and The Market Project all of which were kicked off in Mumbai last year. These are the first of many of concepts and sub-concepts that will be rolled out in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, New Delhi and Gurugram over the next year.
